Gambrinus is a beer brewed in the Czech Republic at the Plzeňský Prazdroj brewery. It is one of the most popular beers in the Czech Republic. The beer is named after Gambrinus, a legendary king of Flanders known for his mythical brewing abilities. Gambrinus sponsors Gambrinus liga, the premier Czech football league. Gambrinus is also the name of a beer brewed in Romania at the Grivita Brewery in Bucharest.[1] The company was founded in 1869.
